Job Description

Hiring Facility Technician - $25-$30/hour 

Summary: 
Guided by our principals of Mutual Respect, Trust, Teamwork, Communication, and Responsibility, the Maintenance Mechanic will repair and maintain all plant equipment and machinery. This position is responsible for keeping the machinery
at ACM operating effectively. You will assemble, inspect, install, and test new pieces of equipment to ensure proficiency. This person must be able to multitask, provide quick responses/solutions to unforeseen problems, and must always exhibit a professional, efficient demeanor.

Description: 

  • Examines parts/machinery for defects and diagnoses electrical and or mechanical problems.
  • Repair machinery, mechanical equipment, and computerized systems in accordance with blueprints, operating manuals, or manufacturer’s expectations.
  •  Lubricates, cleans, and performs preventative maintenance to equipment and machinery.
  • Able to work on PLC controls, VFD drives, and instrumentation.
  • Responsible for maintaining all tools and test equipment in good working condition.
  • Accurately orders/ requisitions parts and materials.
  •  Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
  • Job changes to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines
  • Follows all safety guidelines; reports any work-related injuries to HR as soon as possible (no later than 24 hours)
  •  Ensures maintenance paperwork is filled out timely and correctly throughout the shift
  •  Maintains and proactively updates maintenance standards summary to increase efficiency
  •  Answers radio requests, email, and voice messages; Responds to questions and solves problems


Qualifications: 

  • High School education or equivalent work experience
  •  Previous experience in a Food Processing environment
  •  Ability to read, speak and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos; To effectively present information in one-on-one and small group presentations to management, small groups, co-workers, and other employees of ACM; To speak clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations; To listen to others without interrupting and seek clarification
  •  Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10’s and 100’s; To perform these operations using units of American money
  •  Ability to create and carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions; Solid analytical skills are required; Must be self-motivated and pro-active; Must be able to work well with others
  •  Ability to gather and verify information, recognize, and define problems, analyze findings, draw conclusions, and present solutions

    The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the maintenance department by completing repairs,
    installation, and general upkeep to the facility.
    Performs basic and routine facilities maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality,
    and safety standards. Following standard operating procedures, installs, inspects, repairs, and performs
    preventative maintenance to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management systems.
    Assists with miscellaneous facility projects, including painting, drywall, carpentry, installation of fixtures, and
    moving furniture or materials within the facility. Utilizes a work order system to log activities as required.
    Works with or assists trades contractors to complete projects or complex repairs. Reports to a supervisor.
    Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.
Job Responsibilities
  •  Addresses general building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, damage, emergencies and repairs);
  • Completes tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical installation.
  • Performs maintenance, repairs, or remodeling of the facility including activities such as painting, carpentry, caulking, sealing and like tasks as assigned; Determines when outside vendor(s) should be consulted.
  • Dismantles and installs furnishings; Monitors and replaces light bulbs throughout the facility.
  • Completes emergency/ unscheduled repairs as required to support manufacturing, as well as scheduled repairs/preventive maintenance.
  • Works closely with maintenance personnel on small projects including repairs and new construction projects to ensure work is completed safely and according to specifications.
  • Provides accurate and timely documentation of assigned work orders.
  • Coordinates and assists with miscellaneous departmental needs.
    Adjusts, repairs or replaces parts using a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment.
    Complies with safety regulations and maintains a clean and orderly work area;
  • Performs work in a safe manner and in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Answers radio requests, email, and voice messages; Responds to questions and resolves problems.
Education
High school or equivalent education/work experience.

Qualifications
1-3 years’ of related experience in facilities maintenance, plumbing, electrical, general carpentry, and painting.

Preferred Qualifications
3 to 5 years’ Facility Maintenance experience
1 to 3 years’ experience in a Food Processing environment

Pay: $25-$30/hr dependent on experience ($45,000-71,000 annual)

Position: full time; temp to hire

Shift: Monday to Friday; Second, (start time 2:00pm – 11pm) Weekends, overtime and holiday as needed
