Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist Fabrication Specialist to join our team at our Norfolk, VA location.

Compensation: $25-$30 per hour based on experience that is shared during the interview.

Qualifications:

1. Manual machine experience running
a. VTL
b. Horizontal boring mills
c. Lathes
2. Measurement and QA expertise
a. Using all types of measuring devices (mostly gauges, calipers, veneers, micrometers) , perform precision measurement.
b. Document all work scope and measurements
3. Machine parts experience
a. Vertical Turbine Pumps
i. Machine Registers, facing, boring

ii. Making wear rings and trimming impellers

Split Case Pumps
i. Line Boring, making wear rings, and trimming impellers

Shafting
i. Threading, turning, & straightening

4. Must be willing to help assemble & disassemble pumps when machine work is slow.

Inside machinist experience required
Ability to work with little direction while building tools or fixtures for production.
Strong conceptual skills
Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
Ability to remain results-focused in the fast-paced customer service environment.
Welding experience a plus.

Highly prefer 5+ years of fabrication machinist experience.
