Hiring Solar Project Manager
Job Description
Job Summary
This role is transitioning from Superintendent to Project Manager. The individual will continue working in the field while developing full responsibility for project management, including scheduling, budgeting, timely completion, and maximizing profitability.
Primary Responsibilities
Safety & Leadership
-
Ensure all employees work safely at all times.

Lead foremen and field crews; hold them accountable for performance.

Maintain high morale and clear communication among field staff.

Enforce company policies and procedures.
Project Management
-
Manage projects according to contract and subcontract requirements.
-
Monitor subcontractor production and schedules.
-
Track productivity and improve field performance.
-
Plan installations in advance to ensure efficiency.
-
Manage manpower, material staging, and jobsite logistics.
-
Coordinate weekly manpower planning with VP of Operations.
-
Oversee cost-effective installations while following project plans and layout.
Communication & Coordination
-
Communicate regularly with the General Contractor, supervisors, and other trades.

Coordinate MEP drawings and electrical system installations.
-
Keep journeymen and apprentices informed about materials, backorders, and daily tasks.

Review blueprints and track project changes, including as-built drawings.
Materials & Quality Control

Ensure materials are ordered accurately and delivered on time.

Oversee proper installation to meet project specifications and NEC standards.

Verify quality and accuracy of all installations, including prefab assemblies.
Change Orders & Billing

Track and manage all change orders.

Ensure billing reflects current contract values, including approved changes.

Submit accurate and timely billings using approved forms.
Project Closeout
-
Complete as-built documentation.

Coordinate owner training.

Manage material returns and site cleanup.

Confirm all work is completed per plans and specifications.
Performance Expectations

Follow and enforce company policies and procedures.
Pay - 85k - 100k+ DOE
Qualifications
-
Proven experience in construction project management.
-
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project management principles.

Knowledge of safety and quality standards.
-
Proficient in MS Office and construction/project management software.
-
Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
-
Leadership ability and team-oriented mindset.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Building Science, or related field preferred.
-
Experience with Viewpoint or similar accounting software is a plus.
Physical Requirements
-
Ability to sit, stand, walk, drive, and use a computer (including 10-key).
-
Frequent stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
-
Clear near and distance vision.
